Right of Friends in Islam

Thirty rights apply to friends for a Muslim. He would not be acquitted of these rights, unless he applies these, or his friend forgives these rights: He
1. ignores his mistakes or slips;
2. be compassionate with him in his difficulties;
3. expels his slips (mistakes);
4. accepts his apologies;
5. prohibits people of backbiting about him;
6. continues advising him;
7. respects his friendship;
8. accepts his invitation;
9. accepts his gift;
10. compensates his gift;
11. be grateful from his favours;
12. helps him well;
13. obtains his needs;
14. responds to his questions;
15. guides him when he is mislead;
16. answers his greeting [salam];
17. be pleased with his discourse (talk);
18. be friend with his friends, and be not antagonised with them;
19. stop him of oppression
20. help him to get his rights when he is oppressed;
21. does not defame his friend;
22. wishes every good thing he wishes for himself for his friend;
23. does not wish any unpleasant thing he does not like for himself for his friend either.
24. If his friend is nude he covers him with clothes.
25. If he owes his friend, cares about pays him back his debt.
26. When his friend is sick visits him.
27. In his friend’s death, be present (to console his friend’s family).
28. Support and protect his friend’s spouse (when it is necessary).
29. When his friend sneezes, prays for him.
30. He does not surrender his friend to enemy.
